I want more / I will win
by Jennifer Reid
I’ve produced a banner. The general gist is that the women in my family were all typists or secretaries – this is why I’ve got an archer’s bow and an arrow heading for a typewriter. The text ‘I want more’ and ‘I will win’ is reference to my ambition to achieve in a totally different career. I have no desire to work in an office or as a secretary. The materials I used have no real context, I just wanted to make it as colourful and fun looking as possible. I hand-stitched most of it and that material is murder to sew on. I added the red pom poms so it can be hung up, which is funny really because after I finished making the banner I wanted to hang myself too.
