a durational reading group, curated by Sara Spies

a durational reading group is a new initiative which we hope to develop into a responsive practice-based salon series over time. The purpose of the group is to read together in situ and to support a collective ‘slow’ reading practice that unfolds our communal thinking and questioning. The emphasis is on the immediacy of sharing the text together in order to allow different voices and rhythms of reading as well as different responses to the text. For the first phase, we would like to engage in a shared durational reading of Lisa Baraitser’s Enduring Time (2017). Here is a link and introduction to the text:

Prior reading of the text is not expected (but always encouraged). We have scheduled an hour’s break between practice sharings and the reading group to allow for some transition time.
